The military force in this story is called the Department of Extraterrestrial and Cosmic Defense. DECD? DEC-DEF? It has three principal factions: The Samurai Company, the Wizard Coalition, and the Academy of Demonic Possession. There’s a subfaction, the Ninja Corps.

The oldest and most archaic faction. They are a traditional system with traditional values, although some individuals enjoy a modern take. They harness energy to fight against monsters by killing monsters, harnessing their spiritual power, and repurposing that power into weapons.
